Open Farm Sunday - 1st June

Recommended Posts

Is anybody visiting farms on Sunday 1st June as part of the farm Sunday initiative?

See www.farmsunday.org for your nearest farm. We are thinking of visiting Shotford Hall Farm in Harleston, Norfolk. They have sheep, cow and calves and of course CHICKENS. They also have the irresistable hog roast.

Pity I didn't hear about it sooner. Wecould have arranged a few Omlet meets around the country.

Yes, I saw your post last night whilst I was at work (not allowed to reply from there  ) there's not many farms near us really but I might try to make it to one of the ones in Godalming with the children tomorrow. It wasn't very well advertised - this is the first I've heard of it.

if you're going to 'cheshire farms ice cream farm'

bear this in mind....despite mailing them in Feb, I still haven't had a reply, apart from their first mail. Just so you know when you choose your flavour of ice cream! :D You're safe with the tea rooms though ;)

Dear Sally

Thank you very much indeed. I am very happy to hear that the tea room uses free range eggs. May I suggest that your web site has this information? Not only is it helpful to people like us when deciding where to eat but it’s also good PR for you.

We have some rescued battery hens and so we are very careful about the food we eat when we go out.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Dear Mrs T******

Many thanks for your enquiry regarding the eggs used in our ice cream.

The only flavours with eggs as an inclusion are Raspberry Pavlova and Choc Fudge Cookie and I am awaiting a reply from Caterlink - please bear with me for their reply as it may take a few days.

For the Tea Room Melanie buys free range eggs from a local supplier called Lloyds.

I will get back to you as soon as I can regarding the eggs in our ice cream.

Many thanks.

Hello

Could you please tell me what sort of eggs you use in your ice cream. Are they battery/caged, barn or free range and also what sort of eggs are used in the tea room.

Thank you in advance

Regards

Mrs T*******
