Mini Omlet meet - well sort of!

Recommended Posts

Today, we had a mini meet sort of. We met Karen&co and we bought her red eglu from her! :D

We also met her hens. Hubby loved the Araucana, Boots the cochin & the 2 new legbars. I think it will be a trip out to get some more chickens at the weekend.

Over the moon with the eglu. It's all built and Bumble & Boon have now moved into their new accomodation. They are now 7 weeks old, it's hard to believe I hatched them from eggs - they are big! Boon in the nest box, Bumble on the bars. They haven't seen the run yet as hubby popped them in through the egg port at sleepy time. So they have a whole new world to explore tomorrow.

Thanks so much Karen - we are so happy with it & it was very nice to meet you!

I was lovely to meet you and OH too Emma, sorry everywhere was such a tip  and it's lovely to know that our little red eglu now is home to growing chicks :D

I'm glad the chickens were on their best behaviour for you, I did tell them to be good :wink:

Good luck going to get some new girls, I went 'just to see', but with my money in my pocket

Well Bumble & Boon were quite scared this morning & wouldn't come out for hubby. They only came out when I started whistling. I've whistled ' this old man came rolling home' to them since they were wobbling in their eggs & they associate it with me...their mummy!

They heard me & shot out. Bumble is scared to death & trying to hide under Boon. But they are now both eating. We've got the feeders as low as they can go. They are now just testing the length of the run, running from one end to the other. Yippee!

They were so cute when I peeped at them last night through the egg port, of course Boon the cochin claimed the nest!

Cassandra flew over the fence, said hello & flew back to her mates! The nosey legbar!

I'm sure they like their new home & will grow ever so quickly now they are outside. Photos coming soon!

They sound lovely. I'm glad Karen's eglu went to a nice new home!

Chicks at that age are so funny, I remember Molly and Spice when they were that old. How are they getting on with your other hens when the little ones are in and the other hens free-ranging?

The older girls are very nosey, but not bothering with them. A quick eyeballing, then the tootle off back to their scratching around.

Yes they are funny. I love the way they are trying out their clucks. I wonder if they will put themselves to bed tonight or if it will be a torch job. It's so lovely that they are enjoying being outdoors in their posh new home.

I'm just re sizing some photos, then I'll be posting again!
