A smile for Friday

Recommended Posts

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was 8. I used to fly by myself to my grandparents in Northern Ireland every new year. One year I left my favourite teddy Tedo with relatives in Ballycastle and by the time I noticed it was too late to go back to them otherwise I would have missed my flight back to England. I was in tears about leaving him behind.

My grandparents offered to post him back to me, but I kicked up a huge fuss as I didn't want him to go missing in the post and I would rather wait until I could pick him up again.

In the meantime my dad put a notice up at his work (BT in suffolk so loads of people) to see if anyone was going to Northern Ireland and found someone whose parents were coming to visit shortly. They collected Tedo from my grandparents and flew him over, then we drove out to their son's house to pick him up. Needless to say I was very happy to have Tedo back

Tedo hasn't left my parents house in Suffolk since!

That little girl must have been so happy to get him back...

We have a rule in our house that if a cuddly toy goes with us on holiday, it cannot be a firm favourite... they have to stay home!! I took favourites on holiday before and I spend the whole time worrying that it will get lost!! They also have to go in MY handluggage, not in checked in luggage or kids bags... I'm a bit of a tyrant at times!!!

I guess that wouldn't be easy to do if any of my kids were of the kind that just cant sleep with their favourite cuddly...
