Crooked Chicken
I'm looking for a small washing line that you screw to an outside wall. We use to have one years ago, and I'm looking to buy one for my mum. There's a semi-circle shaped bracket (with notches in) that fixes to a wall with about six arms on, that pull up and fix into the notches when you want to use it, otherwise it just stays flat against the wall all neat and tidy. It's only used for the odd little things that you wash, like dusters, socks etc, but very useful. Any help would be much appreciated. (It's a strange request, so got a feeling this might just disappear down the list of topics....!! )

lizinsa
***Edit*** Just seen that Alison found it before me and it sounds more like your description! Is this what you're after? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8505820/Trail/searchtext%3EWASHING+LINE.htm I got one from argos years ago, but mine looks a bit different from that but it's been great and you even get enough tension on it to hand out towels, sheets and jeans. Crooked Chicken
Thanks girls, but not quite what I was after. I too have been looking on the web and just can't find it. It's not retractable at all. The bracket is approx 3 inches across and the 5 or so metal rods which lie down the wall when not in use are approx 2ft long each. You lift one (or however many) rods up and into the notches in the semicircular bracket as and when you need them. Design wise it's quite basic, but good. Maybe they just don't make them anymore. AMS
Ah, I understand what you mean now... but I've never seen one... So, in conclusion, I've been no help whatsoever!
lizinsa
I know exactly what you mean now, my Gran had one hanging in her laundry room for a while but that was years ago! Have you tried lakeland or perhaps one of those magazines of handy gadgets that you get with the sunday newspapers?
