xScrunchee
A few weeks ago I ordered a sack of layers pellets from my local pet shop. The ones he got in were Copdock Mill layers pellets. I have not heard of them before and am wondering if they are a poor quality feed? Since getting them I had Brandee unwell (although she is back to normal now ), more softies than usual and much paler yolks. The problem was worse at the start of the sack. I have now ordered our normal pellets online so they will be back on those soon but I was just curious as to whether anyone else has heard of this make and if they have had any problems with them?? peanut12
never heardof them either, but presume they come from Ipswich area. Personally I always use Marriages, based in Chelmsford.

xScrunchee
Mmmm, thought that they may be the case. I wasn't charged a budget price but I wouldn't mind betting that they are a cheapo feed which doesn't contain enough calcium, goodness etc. They have been ok since I have been dusting the pellets with limestone flour but I definitely won't be buying them again. Would rather pay the postage and get the Allen and Page ones which is what we normally use anyway
Mrs Webmuppet
Yes they are local to Ipswich (from a animal feed shop on London Road in Copdock). My chooks were fed on them when I got them (they came with half a sack of the pellets), I now feed them on another brand which I get from a shop closer to home. StephanieSB
If it's the same Codpock Mill I know of, they are a quality purveyors of wild bird feed; been around for a while. If they are the same folks, I'd trust the quality of their chicken feed.
Cyber Chook
Codpock Sounds more like a nasty medieval medical condition to me, Stephanie Caroline
StephanieSB
Sounds more like a nasty medieval medical condition to me, Stephanie Yes, I looked it up in my handy medieval medical dictionary, and it is the name of the disease men will get if they take the advice to wee about the garden to ward off foxes
Cyber Chook
Ah, yes, Stephanie, especially if they haven't purchased the latest in ventilated codpieces. Caroline
