run out tonight (v. poor planning on my part) and my supplier not getting any in til thurs. can I give weetabix in water for a bit of ballast, plus corn for excitement til thurs am? anything else?

I would do exactly what you've suggested! Perhaps some oats (porridge) too? I'm sure they'll be fine

You can feed them just corn and years ago that's just what happened so don't worry, they will soon have there normal food again. I was going to suggest oats as well but I note that has already been done.

 

You may get less eggs as they will not get all the normal stuff from their feed, but it's only a few days so don't worry these things happen.

thanks both of you, they are only 12 weeks, so no egg worries! just dont want them to be hungry, and they will prob enjoy the change for a day anyway. guess I might lob a few grapes/tomatoes in as well as we seem to have some of those knocking about.

Could you give them rice or pasta or are they too young for that?

 

(lets just hope they dont mind going back to pellets on Thursday)

Is it just the Growers you are short of? - do you still have Layers for the older girls? - the younger ones can eat Layers.
