You might not have to mow depending on how many chooks you will have in the area...I only have 4 and they seem to just pick out the tastiest bits of grass, clover etc, so we mow occasionally to make it look pretty. As the summer (what summer?) goes on the grass growth will slow down so we may not need to mow very often.
