Tina C
You need the exact model and engine size for the Parkers site. I could not even see Land Rover Defender on there. If you know what the emissions are you can use the direct.gov.uk site.

Guest
We have a 4X4 bought in 2002 and its a 2002 reg so that means our tax will be over £400 because of a decision we made 6 years ago! Just to rub salt in the wound, if a car was registered before 1st March 2001, the tax band would remain unaffected! Coincidentally, it is also around the same time that bull bars were banned. So you could buy a great big, old, polluting and more uneconomical 4x4, complete with nice pedestrian crushing bull bars and actually save money on tax, when compared to a cleaner and newer 4x4, or even a small modern car, such as a Ford Fiesta!
