I'm hoping I have everything I need now.... but for the life of me can't remember what I should be doing with what!!!! Advice please. Layers pellets - into grub. Garlic powder - how much? Into the grub??? Limestone flour - How much? Into grub???? Poultry spice??? Apple Cider Vinegar - How much in their glug?? Grit - into little holder thingy... Diamateous Earth - for Dust bath and cube cleaning? Bokashi bran - into grub?? Any thing else???
Egg Lou
Sounds like you are pretty much there! I mix pellets, sml scoop limestone, garlic, handful bran, and diatom all together in grub.. Diamtom in poo tray and dust bath grit in small pot as you already mentioned... a slurp of apple cider vineger in glug.. Other things I have found useful in my short time are.. Plentiful supply of newspapers for poo tray Shredded paper for nest box Rescue remedy.. for chooks and me just in case! Flubenvet .. wormer that most people would say is essential but not straight away.. I used after just 2 weeks Treat bowl as you will soon stop feeding by hand all the time! ouch! Good supply of tinned, no salt/suger sweetcorn A comfy chair and poo proof trousers! edited to add amounts! cluckbok
Hi ya, Bookashi, couple handfuls into grub. Poultry Spice mainly for winter or when they moulting. Grit into cup or bake eggshells and grid into porridge with warm water. Pellets fill up grub. Garlic powder couple teaspoons in grub. We found the bookashi brilliant stuff, even sprinkle it in poo tray. Other things not sure, someone will reply soon.

Egluntyne
Flubenvet is a fine powder. of which you use ridiculously small amounts. A tub will last forever.
Ain't Nobody Here
I have all the above plus: Citronella (sprinkled in poo tray after cleaning)Red Mite powder (a bit in the fresh nestbox shredded paper & occasional dust under wings)Stalosan F powder (for the run after cleaning out)Garden lime (ditto) Not vital immediately but you can add them to your ever growing list of potential purchases!
