Steph101
Following on from my 'maggots in flitrap' post earlier, could it be that it's no longer effective and it's just a breeding ground for them? It's not full to the brim, but there's loads in there now with the maggots writhing about (it's gross). Can't think of how to dispose of it either. Wish I'd never got the damn things; they stink to high heaven.
Duckmomma
Empty it or bin it? I emptied mine the other day, and although it was no picnic, once I set my mind to it it wasn't so bad I got prepared first. I put the hose and a bucket of water next to the gulley that runs from the drain, then pulled up the square metal cover. Then I opened the fly trap and emptied it down the gulley. I dunked the Fli trap in the bucket of water swirled it around and again emptied it down the gulley, did this untill it was clean. Then just hosed the gulley till all the bodies had gone (I wouldn't use too much water pressure or the dead flies will go every where ) To be honest I can't afford to just throw the traps away, I got 4 refill packs with each trap so it would be a dreadfull waste. I also had maggots in mine
AJuff
I can't understand why you put yourselves through the horror of emptying them. Just buy a Gotcha fly trap which uses recycled milk bottles and you can just put the top on it and bin it without the gore!!
