HELP !!! What to put on a wasp sting? - thanks everyone!

Recommended Posts

My toddler has just been stung by a wasp and is screaming in pain. I've put some ice on the sting but it hasn't helped much

I remember from school that either vinegar or bicarb take the sting out but I'm not sure which to use.

is it bicarb for bees and vinegar for wasps?

Ouch = is the sting out? I devised a sting puller for my daughter who wasps love  . I sawed the end off of a 5ml syringe so it had a big openeing & just used that on her sting area to vaccume out the sting. I always have this plus several mini restaurant sachets of vinegar in my bag.

He's over the worst now. There's no sting just a big lump on his wrist.

Everytime he spots it, he says ouch and starts to cry again but is easily distracted.

Thanks for all the kind advice.

It happened by his slide and although I'd watched him constantly while he was playing on it. My first reaction was to think that he'd fallen off and hurt himself. It was only when I looked more closely that I saw the sting. I then realised that he'd been stealing strawberries from the veggie patch. His hand was sticky with juice and this must have attracted the wasp.
