Unsecure chicken perches

was caught by me when I came home from the gym letting the chooks free range the whole garden while he............POO PICKED!! He had all the hemcore raked to the front of the run and he was getting all the poo out. I think my husband has got a soft spot for the chookies

Mine cleans out the cube, changes their water and walks around with a tub trug picking up poos with a pink cat scoop....

Hes a 6ft3 New Yorker that thought, when I met him, that a chicken came with breadcrumbs on it !

Hes now the proud owner of 2 dogs (rescued whilst on a holiday in Cyprus) one cat (again saved and rescued after a poisonous snake bite and brought back ) and since the end of May, 8 lovely hens!

mine is definatley not indifferent to chooks, although he doesn't seem that bothered about the cleaning out aspect, last night he poo picked as I was in bed poorly, took him a really long time so he must have done a very thorough job. he also washed the ladder as he thought it was looking a bit grubby. bless him.

my hubs was/is exactly the same! He wasn't sure about getting them at all in the first place, then he was worried we were getting too many (4 at that time). Then, after a few months he even suggested we get more!

Yolky you give me hope. Our chickens arrive on 22nd August (29 sleeps) LSH looked aghast when I mentioned that we will have to poo pick! Do the rules on introducing new chickens to existing chickens extend to introducing hubby to chickens

OH was so encouraging when I suggested keeping chickens that he bought me our girls for my birthday. He now wants a cube and 7 more hens!

 

How can anyone remain hard hearted when they see them clucking around the garden?
