mrs chook
Hi The youngies are now nearly 17 weeks old, had their wings clipped and their first freerange last eve . I have them in an eglu alongside the older girls in a large enclosed area of garden. I am not sure whether to get a cube ordered for them all and sell the eglus or keep two seperate eglus. I have a roll away egg box in one run as older ones LOVE to eat eggs where poss-hence additional girls. I just want a harmonious living area for them with max floor area. The in particular is getting really red in the face, although not v much comb yet. The youngies are also getting a bit restless, sorting out their own pecking order I think but also keen to freerange. They all seem ok in each other's company, just wondering when exactly to bite the bullet and merge the 4 of them Any advice on any of the above would be very welcome. Egluntyne
Generally the advice is to leave it till 22 weeks as the y will be better able to stand up for themselves if there are any squabbles. Article **here** about managing intros.
mrs chook
Thanks Egluntine , I have had them alongside and getting used to each other for a fortnight-so far so good. Will just continue to let the newies freerange at different time to the older ones then I think.
