ChirpyChirpyCheepCheep
Hello everyone Well hopefully I have succeeded by adding a link to this photo. Only taken five days Clootie! Roxie is looking at Ronnie, sorry you can't see Ronnie's face and Peggy is at the back. Ronnie is verbal. Roxie and mummy are playing a little game. I put the straw in the nest, she enjoys chucking it everywhere inside and outside the eglu. Peggy likes to be first in the queue for the titbits. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f342/chirpychirpy_photos/Chickens005.jpg

clootie
Meant to say Chirpy, every time I hear the "boom booms" at the end of Easties, I think of your chickens!!
Earthchild
Awww they look lovely Mine take themselves to bed at dusk without any problems, but one thing I have done since I got them (just in case I needed to get them in the run quickly) is train them to come running when I shout "here chooky choocky" Did this by bribary and corruption and a lot of help from mealworms Just need to make sure I always have mealworms on hand for when I need to get them in thinking about it I should have trained them with something cheaper
ChirpyChirpyCheepCheep
Hi So sorry to hear you lost one of your chickens Clootie. I have to say I did lol when I saw your message about the doof doofs at the end of Eastenders. . . We let them out yesterday. They foraged around like they owned the place (we do have a cat that thinks otherwise). Ronnie and Roxie came back after a little fuss, but Peggy was a nightmare! She had got herself in a lovely spot just far enough to say "Nah nah nah nah can't reach me!" OH had to show her whose boss (yeah right. . .) Was worried last night because we had thunderstorms and lightening. They didn't seem too fussed about it all. I did look to see if there were any eggs this morning though! Hen Watch
Was worried last night because we had thunderstorms and lightening. They didn't seem too fussed about it all. I did look to see if there were any eggs this morning though! Mine sometimes lay funny eggs after a shock. So last nights thunder provided me with an egg with points at both ends (along with the other normal ones). Hens chucking nest box material onto their backs it what 2 of mine do when they lay. So a good sign. But Henrietta did do this for weeks and weeks before she actually laid her first egg.
