It rained very hard yesterday and the run filled with hemcore got wet even though I had it covered. I have just been out there at the crack of dawn as the rain had held off for a while so I cleared away all the wet stuff round the edges. I just don't know what to do now for the best, we can't afford to replace the hemcore all the time :(

My husband has said he will make this (see this thread) http://www.chat.allotment.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=21551 but this cant be done for a few weeks. I don't know what to have in the run now. I am away for a week soon and I can't expect my friend to deal with this problem and have to take off/add 6 shower curtains.

I am feeling a bit dispondent today :( every time I think we have sorted one issue another comes along and it is also costing so much, we have spent so much on the eglu and everything already. please help :(

come on Yolky you are usually so perky!!! Once it drys out you will be feeling better again..... by all accounts it does dry out very quickly. I am using easibed in mine which is also drenched this morning as I didn't get to put my shower curtain out - will practice that today!!!

am sure your friend will cope well while you are away, it's unlikely that it will rain everyday, if it does, you'll have muddy chooks who won't mind being dirty, bit like pigs in ............

Sending very positive thoughts to you...

:D

Thank you everyone you have made me feel better. I guess I just have to realise that the girls don't mind if they are a little wet. They are chooks that live in a chook house not a palace (I would like them to live in a lovely palace)

Egluntine, it is great isn't it. I have a lovely flat space against the fence which will be perfect for it. At least they will be sorted for the winter when we get weeks and weeks of rain.

Thank you again everyone, you really are lovely :D
