cammy73
I'm at a loss of what to do next..... Bufffy laid a softie about 3 weeks ago, she hasn't laid anything since, my other 2 girls are laying with no problems. I know because of the colour of the eggs. Buffy has been ok since eating and drinking, i thought she was going broody because she started spending 2-3 hours in the nest box. But if chucked out she happily did chicken things with the other 2. Well today, i've been out to them and buffy has laid what i can only descibe as scrambled egg, only a small amount, with a clear fluid, her vent looks clean although some feathers are wet. The other 2 girls have taken an interest and started to peck her back end. I've locked her in the cube for now.... Oh and I wormed them 2 weeks ago... Has anyone got any ideas what to do next?? peepie
If her bottom is gungy. It might be worth bringing her in and washing her bottom with some warm water to get rid of it before the others peck her too much and make her sore. Make sure you pat her as dry as you can with towel afterwards. Some people use a hair dryer but be careful not to burn her. I would have thought it's pretty warm at the moment anyway so she should dry out OK. xx
