ruth1
I line my trays with newspaper then chuck a handful of hemcore on and drop some citronella onto that, the smell lingers and the ouse smells nice and citrussy There was a great tip on another thread about dropping it on to terracotta pots as they are porous to deter flies to
Hen Watch
I sometimes put 2 drops of pure citronella oil into the poop tray (which has newspaper and Auboise in it). You can also put a few drops on some kitchen towel and tuck it high up under the shade in the run where the chooks can't eat it.
alih
i put drops into a small sprayer thing and shake them up with water then spray the inside of the eglu roof and the bars/ poo tray before putting paper and hemcore in. Also spray the covers. seems to work ok
Peachy77
would the oil not damage the plastic at all. I was wondering as am keen to try some of the oil in my cube. was thinking of mixing some drops with water in a plant spray.
MedusA
I just sprinkle a few drops onto the Aubiose in the poo tray. Seems to work.
