muzzie
After much adjusting and the purchase of a second eglu lots of purple bottoms I have come to the realization that Eggwina can not live with the other girls she had been attacking Henrietta & Henny both had to recover in the house for a couple of weeks and yesterday Eggna who was being left along by her has been pecked to bleeding. She is a great pet wonderful with people very friendly but does not get along with other chickens. It was a very sad night and today I will start the search for a new home for her. This will be difficult as she can't go where there will be other chickens. Please wish me and Eggwina luck in the search for a new home. stoice
oh how sad for you. My Gladys was going that way but she's stopped the bullying now. A friend of ours has a small holding and prepared to take her if she didn't snap out of it. He has a couple of cockerels that'd put her in her place if she joined them (Plus they are free to roam so any bullying and they could run away easily. Maybe somewhere like that could be an option. Then she wouldn't be alone.

Robbo1962
I had a bully in my little flock and she was being really agressive to some 20 week old girlie, grabing them by thier heads and swinging them around! They were really frightened of her and would not come to bed at night, she would go and look for them and kick them out if they gone to bed. So I afraid she had to go and she has gone to 'brat camp' and is now with 40 other free range chicks and several large cockerils, she has been put firmly in her place and I hope it may of knocked some of the agreession out of her, I am nervous to reintroduce her as the babies are so happy and settled now, I may just leave her there. May be its worth a try......
Olly
What a shame. Can you get bumper bits where you are - would that solve the pecking problem? Sometimes it's the only solution. I hope you are soon able to find her a new home.
AJuff
I have a chook who bullies the others. A bumper bit has put her firmly back in her place. Feathers have grown back and peace is restored. Try a bumper bit you may be surprised.
muzzie
I have a chook who bullies the others. A bumper bit has put her firmly back in her place. Feathers have grown back and peace is restored. Try a bumper bit you may be surprised. As it is a normal thing to debeak the chicks at the hatchery I don't think we have bumper bits sized for the chickens I have seen them available for pheasants and turkeys I guess they don't debeak them. I would love to get some if I could find them I hate to see the girls fight. With all the blood I'm afraid one of them will be killed. Duckmomma
Does any one know if you can get bumper bits for bantams? if so where? One of my polands keeps picking on the other two and has to be kept seperate. He/she always goes for the head and overnight will turn their beautifull feather caps into a bloody pulp, it looks so sore Mabe if I am going to be ordering some I could order a couple of regular size ones and send them out to the states for you. I am sure the postage can't be that much can it?
