TheChookKeeper
Was most excited today to uncover 5 lovely, yummy eggs today, from our 5 chickens. Just need the ducks to start laying now, and I'll be well away! I didn't think Penny was old enough yet for eggs, but she has proven me wrong! Ranged from 62g to 92g today... still got to go some to break their personal best of 128g though! Boy that was a biggun'! So yes, after my 2 lovely girls got stolen all those months ago, I am now back up to a reasonable number of eggs again. Hoorah!

TheChookKeeper
My only problem now, is convincing them that they want to use the Eglu again. I had a pretty nasty louse infestation on the chooks, the eglu, the garden, everything, it was awful. I believe they came in with Penny (who is new). Anyway - that infestation has been gone from the eglu for well over a week now, and have managed to clear it from everything else now too (except the odd little blighter I still find). Problem is, the chooks "moved out" of the eglu during these problems, and took to sleeping on the perch in their run... which is fine - they seem to like it in this warm weather anyway - often falling asleep with their wings partially open. But we also gave them free range of the garden recently... and so now they have decided that a box of flowers of my sisters is the best place to lay their eggs..! Any ideas how I convince them they want to go back to the eglu? They all go home at night, but only as far as their run. One goes to bed indoors now, but none lay their eggs in there!
