Thank you, it was worth the wait, two months since I came to the hen party at your house!

 

My son had two poached tonight, tiny, but perfectly formed!

 

The eggs were 36 & 38 gm each today and the was 46 gm like yesterday's.

One of mine layed the day before I went away and the other started while I was away, hopefully yours performed in time. Its a great feeling when you get that first egg. My 'very' first egg came with a date stamp, I figured either a very clever chicken or somebody was having a joke with me, decided on the latter!

Well she started laying on the 26th I think and all have been about 40ish g, just come back from being away and found a beautiful 68g eggy

Congtarulations to you and the girls, its really quite exciting isn't it getting thoses first eggs, one of ours is still to start, and I check every morning in anticipation of the bis event!

 

Yesterday one of mine laid a soft shelled egg, whilst I was holding her which landed on my foot!! For an awful second I though I was holding her too hard and had squeezed it out , I decided this isn't really possible. So don't be surprised if you end up with one of these weird little eggs also.

My daughter's hen Amber has laid her first egg today, cream with splashes on it and a healthy 55g. Unfortunately DD is in Switzerland with the Guides.

Nice surprise for her return.

she laid the day we left, mostly 35g's all week, 2 softies on one day after an upset. I am really looking forward to getting my first one tommorow. there are 3 on the side waiting for 1 more tommorow to scramble for family breakfast.
