Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

Hubby has just asked how we are going to keep our eggs in order once the girls eventually start laying. Hopefully we should get 3 a day. We are thinking about trying to get a long tray where you start them putting the eggs in from one end and take from the first row when you are using up the eggs (being the oldest eggs). What does everyone else use? Any recommendations as to where to buy from?

The egg skelter is great, it is just the thing to keep your eggs in order

I have an egg skelter too. But I also write the day of lay on each egg in pencil (then anyone who I give them to knows they have to been eaten within 28 days of that date). Before I had the egg skelter I just had them in a basket and used the oldest first looking at the date code.

I too write the date on them and the name, I can tell them apart but others can't and like to know whose egg they are eating

I always rotatred them in the ceramic rack, I also still write the dates on but you have to get a skelter,

 

they are coming out in more colours too now!
