abwsco
Have been chicken shopping this afternoon and come back with four 12 week old girls. We now have a sussex, bluebell, blackrock and speckeldy. Ideally I'd have liked a bit older as it would mean that we wouldn't have to keep them seperated in the run for so long but I didn't want warren POL's The current girls are not impressed and Mo in particular has been shouting about it right until bedtime. Infact she was still doing it when shut in the coop Oh, and I've already had to chase one round the garden and rescue it form being pecked as hubby left the run door open whilst I was sorting out the run separation. No names yet either as we currently have a Simpsons theme going but not sure if to continue this or not.
dogmad
Ooo more chickens - how exciting! Where did you get them from? I'm getting mine on Sunday from Karen Pimlott. Also have you got any pics?
abwsco
Hi Debbie, I got them from Millers. Have you decided what you're getting yet from Karen? Here's a few pics but they are difficult to photograph -lol They've now got free rein of the whole run as one decided to try and clear the panels I'd put up splitting it off. dogmad
Hi, No not decided yet, will just see whats there when I go. I can't make my mind up, but think it will be a dark one, light one and a ginger one. Yours look lovely, it must be really difficult to choose which to get! Do you mind telling me what size run your lot are in? My run is nearly 8 ft square and I'm just trying to decide whether to stick to my original idea and get 3 or if I could squeeze another one in! Egluntyne
Congratulations, They are lovely. Can't wait to hear the names. I know you've had an Edna, but there is something about the name "Mrs Krabappel" that would suit a hen.
ubereglu
They're lovely. Just make sure you feed them on growers pellets until they're about 17 weeks old.
