I've been working on it for a while now and am just at the point of making it public.

 

There are a couple of glitches: one of the chickens doesn't have her own link to her page - despite everything looking right in the code - I will ask my friend to look at it on Monday and there are a couple of things not quite finished yet like the ABOUT section but it is ready for y'all to have a look at and please please please leave a comment or two

 

The more astute of you will realise I have copied and pasted much of the site's content from my comments here (with tweaks) in order to fill up the posts and bring the site up to date.

 

From now on I will be updating the site directly.

I have been searching for over an hour to find where to change that - I can't find it - this part was done by my friend and I know she *hand wrote* that part.

 

I know WHAT to do and I know HOW to do it - I just can't find WHERE it is.

 

I assume you got that from View Page Source? I can't see that when I look at it. . .

Fred: I can't get to grips with this - I am certainly not seeing the same as you are - I have already done the search and there is nothing there! It is like you have access to completely different code than I do!

OK - thanks for that - I had already tried that though the My Chickens and the individual chicken pages but I still don't see what you have shown me. . .

 

Let's assume I DID see it - where do I go to change it? I have looked in my site via ftp and there is nothing there to change the code either! It is baffling. . .

 

I think it is time to give up on it and just get my friend to do it on Monday in work.

Aww THANKS for offering I'm heading to bed now though and I actually pay a web designer in work to not only do this for me but to TEACH me how to trouble shoot simple things like this! I had best leave it to her. (She may talk me through it tomorrow if she is online.)

That's the link corrected now - it was all in the Backend rather than the FTP and I was always just one click away from working it out What a lot of time I wasted looking and looking and not finding

Hi there, I am not a blogger, still getting the hang of forum posting with regularity really. However, I loved reading yours It reaaly made me smile I need to work out what to do do to keep up to date with your entries. Love the banner at the top. Tell me is blogging a bit like keeping a 'public' diary?

Yes, it is a VERY public diary! This is somewhere I can share with friends and family how we are getting on with the chickens. You wont see much private stuff in this blog (I have another one for that!) and I try to be fairly careful about giving information away on it - I wouldn't post information about my real address etc - but that is all standard internet security these days.

 

As for keeping up to date - I use a thing called RSS to make sure I don't have to look at every single blog I want to read every day - it tells me when those blogs have an update to read.

 

I'm glad you liked reading it - I love it when people enjoy what I write
