Robbo1962
Along with everyone over the weekend, we have had alot of rain and it has left the girls run (30ft sq with 6 hens) very wet and muddy. I have sectioned off the worst bit as the girls take delight in scratching and making things worse! My worry is that the ground seems to be a bit smelly, I rake up any unwanted cabbage leaves/treats etc and try to keep things clean but I am worried that it be 'sick' ground. Does anyone know of a spray or similar (sterilizer) that I can treat the ground with, without killing the grass? I am sure WHEN the weather dries up and the sun comes out it will be much better, just want to see the sun on my girls backs! even thier lovely new purpose built dust bath became a mud bath! chelsea
Stalosan F is a very good agricultural powder you can sprinkle on your soil. Its used for all forms of livestock and helps the soil and prevents disease. Harmless to livestock and humans and has a pleasant smell too.
