BeckyBoo
Hello again, well here's more pictures of my chicks and I thought I'd ask YET AGAIN which you think they are. They will be 11 weeks on Saturday... Heres Bill, he's a copper black maran and I am 99.9% certain he's a boy Here's Bumble our Cream Legbar girly Now here's the unknowns firstly Dandelion who is a Buff Orpington and I THINK might be a girl Then our Buff Sussex as yet unnamed and, I think, a boy? Then lastly my tatty old Brahma chick who I desperately want to be a girl, who has no comb at all and no wattles to speak of but squares up to Bill a fair amount so may well be a boy - they are slow to mature so I really have no idea They have been the best thing in a long while, they are fun, educational, interesting, brilliant. I shall be sorry to say goodbye to Bill, but once he starts crowing or even a bit before he's off to our friends to meet his new lady friends Any other boys are going back to the breeder, I wish wish wish I could keep a cockerel, they are stunning! Karen Pimlott
Brahmas dont have comb combs!!! They have pea combs.
BeckyBoo
What's a pea comb? I'm fairly sure our unnamed Brahma is a boy as he is well and truly s"Ooops, word censored!"ping with Bill and Fred the other two boys. That said, I'm not handing him over to anyone until he starts crowing as I have wanted a Brahma for SO long and he's such a scruffy looking thing that I'm really attatched already. I know they are slow to mature so I'm hoping I've got him for a while longer yet I must think of a unisex name for him / her instead of "oh, the big scruffy chick" Mrs B
Egluntyne
Here are the different types of comb. Why not just call him/her "Scruffy" ?
BeckyBoo
Font of all knowledge - I knew I could rely on you! SO now then, has anyone got any idea when that should appear on Scruffs head? He / she has absolutely nothing there except a bit of pink skin Mrs B
