avipro or lifeguard poultry tonic?

Recommended Posts

which do you think is better? they both seem to contain virtually the same ingredients. Poor little Lottie is still not doing so great, despite being on baytril so we got some lifeguard a while back and have started adding it to the girls' water.

I just wondered if we'd be better off with avipro or do you think they do the same job?

I am afraid I don't know anything about the tonics. I was thinking of getting the battles one to add to their water but I was only going to get that one as that is the one my local place sells. I would say if they both seem the same ingredients wise keep going with the one you have, perhaps try the other one when you have ran out, see what they prefer. Have you tried Lottie on poultry spice to see if that will perk her up?

they've been getting poultry spice since we got them, they have it about once a week. Thanks anyway.

I guess we'll stick with the lifeguard as both avipro and lifeguard are prebiotic etc.

think we'll stick with it, we're dosing at the rate of 25ml per 2L of water (which is the dosage for poorly/stressed chooks) it turns the water bright yellow but they're drinking it so hopefully it'll do Lottie some good.

Thanks mumpty.

Sorry I wasn't around.

Lifeguard is a far better tonic than Battles Poultry Tonic, but it's more expensive. Avipro is fantastic for any ailing animals and especially good at sorting out any dodgy tummies they may have. I give Lifeguard through the winter and to help them grow new feathers, but keep Avipro for when any of the animals is poorly.
