Angels4 Posted August 26, 2008 Share Posted August 26, 2008 Miss Rachael (one of our cats). Thought it would be a good idea to spy on M'Lynn while she was in the nest box (preparing to lay). At one point Rachael put her paws up on the run to get a better view. Well M'Lynn was having not of that and started making quite the racket while charging out of the Eglu. Of course this peeked the interest of the rest of the girls and they came to her aid screaming and flapping thier wings. What a sight to see, Rachael tail between her legs, running for higher ground. Mumpty Posted August 26, 2008 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I'm wondering what mine will do when the girls arrive, I've got 4 cats, two under a year, so they'll think it's great fun. Yesterday they were out freeranging and Paxo charged at Four Paws, and actually knocked her over into a roll. poor old Fours, I am sure she knows she could have Paxo for breakfast if she made up mind to. Malachy isn't the brightest button in the box but he's very gentle and just wants to be friends with them. He spends a bit of time sitting on the other side of the wire fence that protects my tomatoes, and watching them benevolently. Agnes has taken to chasing him into the house if he gets too close - he's scared of her and if you saw him this would make you laugh, as he's an absolutely enormous ginger cat. dancing cloud Posted August 28, 2008 Share Posted August 28, 2008 My younger cat Loki still loves his girls and can often be found sitting with them on the lawn, though he has now given up on trying to get them to play with him. He's a bit wary of Joy, because she had a huff at him, and is particularly fond of Dandelion who he plays a form of hide and seek with Fat Puddy (soon to be not-so-fat Puddy if the strict diet works ) has always been scared of them, but has recently taken to coming into the yard at hen-bedtime if the doors are open. She usually waits till there's just a couple of hens not in bed and comes to sit on the chicken-watching bench with me. I don't think she'll ever love them, but at least she's prepared to come for a look - even if she is only trying to decide which one's going to make the best meal now she's on starvation rations Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
