They're here early! But are the wings clipped right?

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to share the good news!

Chelsea had said that she had had some omlet deliveries a day early so I stayed at home until 2.30pm and then I had to venture out to do the job I put off and hate the most in the whole world :( – clothes shopping! I have to get new clothes for the start of term. I had just started to get change when my phone goes. So as you can imagine there I was half in/out of my clothes struggling to get my phone out of my bag in a tiny cubicle!!Eventually I answer the phone and it is my DS saying ‘guess what’s here?’ - my (green eglu) had arrived a day early!! :D:D I was so excited I shouted to my friend and as a result told everyone in the changing rooms!:!:

By the time I got home my DH had set it all up and my DD ( well today at least)had rung the farm to arrange to collect our three girls GNR(Bluebelle)PP . We had them put by the day we ordered the eglu! At 7pm we collected the latest additions to our family who chatted quietly on the 5 mile journey home (sooo cute) and are now quietly settled in their new home! I took a quick photo of them in their box all snuggled up together after their journey but it is a bit blurred. I'll get my DS to help me post it when he gets home later. I wanted to get them into the eglu asap to let them settle so I will have to take some more when I let them out in the morning.

The only concern that I have so far is that they have had their left wings clipped and after reading the forum I thought that the right wings was the one that should be done  What do I know? They seem fine, are 20 weeks old today and one has already started laying, probably GNR . Although I was told this may stop for a while until they are settled. I am sure I will see in the morning! I am just a little :anxious: that I do everything right for them.

Sorry to go on I will leave now and have my lunch (it is only 8.34pm!!!)

EDITED to change their ages a chicken laying at 20 days would be incredibly advance!!! My mistake in the excitement! sorry!

Hi Lisa,

I'm not implying that your ladies are a bit thick; honestly I'm Not; it's just that I'm not convinced that they can tell the difference between left and right anyway - so if you don't tell them, they'll never know!!

The only difference will be when/if they finally do get off the ground for a little aerial ballet, yours will circle in the opposite direction. Do you have a video camera ??!!

Enjoy them - almost certainly they will be the best investment you ever make.

Mx.
