Eglutine... You were right! 3 weeks?

Recommended Posts

Having taken the slow approach on introducing 1 ex battery hen to an established flock of 2 :oops:

It now appears they have accepted her :D , they allow her to eat closeby without any fuss!! So glad i took your advice-using the slow approach, appears to have turned out successful. :) Over the past couple of days they now seem to be walking around a bit more in 3's. Sounds like "3 weeks" appears to be the magical time when they give up the fight and sort their pecking order out?!

Only problem i now have is that they are all off lay :roll: -at 1st i thought it was a bit of stress -but it appears that a lot of our people here are having same problems?! Change in shorter days etc?

Thanks everyone for all your advice. :D

That is good news. :D Thanks for letting us know.

I nearly dropped my Garibaldi when I saw my name in the title. :D

:lol::lol::lol:

You shouldn't be surprised Egluntine, you've given alot of good advice to alot of people!

I for one am certainly grateful, my girls have had gradual intros over the whole 'summer :roll: ' hols and now they are all in a lovely big enclosure happily living together - so long as they remember Bertha is boss :shameonu:

I am now looking to sell my two pink eglus and get a cube to give them a greater floor area within the run and to make cleaning etc etc easier.

I love to read other people's stories of happy intros :D
