Look what I found advertised on mumsnet

 

"well, our eggs hatched....chicks are now about 4 months old and 2 are male...

we have black copper marans, one male one female, a lovely blue copper maran male, and a welsummer which I fear may be male also. We live in the NW, if you are interested lt me know. "

 

 

Why to people bother to hatch eggs if they don't want to keep the chickens?

It is irresponsible. Why bother; I mean, there's always the chance of having males after all - it's a bit of a gamble.
