Living in a stable??

Recommended Posts

Hi first post coming up! We have had our girls now since june and they are all laying very well in there cube, but this weather is breaking my heart. They have bark in their run but it is just a mud bath! We have a large stable in the garden that was used for horses before we moved in and I am thinking of putting their cube in there. The only thing is ,is it is a bit dark in there only having one clear roof panel......does anyone know if the girls would mind this? sorry for sounding thick!

I'll be moving mine into a stable soon. Just hanging on hoping for an Indian summer ??

I feel a bit sorry for them as they are used to free ranging within their electrified netting but won't get outside much once I move their Ark into a stable. I'll be putting Easibed down for them to root through.

How about making an American style screen door that fits inside the door on a pair of hinges so you can leave the main stable door open to let light in? some thick battening, some weldmesh and a sturdy fastener would do the job. Stables usually have an overhang so the bedding wouldnt get too wet and you could close the main door at night for added security.
