A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I have started making what I call 'breakfast hens' - a wee-tiny version of my doorstop to go in Christmas breakfast baskets (with tea, freshly laid eggs, homemade jam and marmalade), as a paperweight to hold down post, for those who eat breakfast on windy hilltops. The link to the instructions for doorstops is below - these are about a quarter of the size. Olly
sorry, think I managed to reply on another thread, very ... but what I said was, that's inspired me to make some for Christmas, as I hadn't thought about paperweight size. They look great.

A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Thinking about it, you cold make them half as small again with a loop through the top of the pyramid and use them as chickeny baubles for the christmas tree, or as bag charms, to hang off the handles of beach bags, or keyfobs. They'd only take about 20 minutes to make at that size. I'm going to give them a go as baubles now! Anna x
Olly
ooh, now you're talking! I REALLY like that idea. Can you still fill with rice at that size? I guess so. hmm, now I need to find some fabric remnants!
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I think I'm going to fill them with rice, but may go for cotton wool balls dependent on weight. I'm thinking maybe use felt instead of cotton for the bodies, so they retain more shape. And gold thread for sewing, and maybe on the outside of the seams like blanket stitch - for a bit o' festiveness. They'll be about an inch tall. With thick string loops so they stay on, hopefully. I may make a felt paperweight-sized one stuffed with cotton wool balls and give it big felt wings as well as wattle and comb - a chickangel - for the top of the tree. But my partner may draw the line at that! I'm now wondering if I could do little chick angels hanging on their own branch as a table centrepiece. Maybe with gold pipe cleaner halos. Dang my equilateral triangles! They are so versatile I fear I am going too far! Anna x
