olpoll
hi there, im new to the forum and hope someone can help me out with my first problem i got three call ducks about three months ago the breeder told me i had two ducks and one drake which is what i wanted well over the past few weeks ive realised ive got two drakes and one duck i thought about getting another two ducks but the breeder has no ducks at the moment she told me that i could take one drake back and get my money back. the three ducks seem inseparable at the moment and im attached to them now if i keep two drakes and one duck what will happen when the breeding season starts will all hell break loose should i get rid of one of my drakes or should i try and find two more ducks? and would it be ok to introduce two more? Lesley
You will def. have to do something - as you say, when the breeding season comes your poor duck would be in a serious situation. As your three seem settled I would try to find extra ducks and introduce them carefully, separating them but keeping them next to each other so that they can get used to each other. We introduced 3 new (full grown) ducks to our exisiting drake and two ducks without doing this and there were no problems, but it is best to be able to keep them separate in case there are any problems. You will also find more info. - and maybe ducks - in the Practical Poultry forum.
