Ain't Nobody Here
Maisie, our Columbine, often lays long skinny eggs . We probably get one every few weeks or so. Anyone else regularly get strange shaped eggs?
Ms Marple
Henrietta started laying this week (Tuesday). Her eggs have all been that shape. She also seems to just drop them randomly in the run. (I might be wrong here as I have not seen her do it, but Mabel always lays in the nesting box, whereas Hennie's are dotted about the Eglu run?) Chickvic
Pearl often lays torpedo eggs, I'm never sure which way up I'm supposed to stand them Opal lays egg shaped eggs and Ruby occasionally lays really round eggs, we had a few that were almost golf ball shaped
Egluntyne
Artemis Fowl, Kentucky and Paxo all lay torpedos......and they are my Pepperpot girls.
Snowy
One of my gingernuts lays golf ball eggs - I never know which end is up either! Funny how each of my girls lays a specific shaped egg. I have two white egg layers who lay eggs almost the same weight, but they are completely different shapes so I always know who laid what! lisa33
Today we had a pure white egg. Not sure who has done it though as we normally have pale brown, speckled and darker brown. I'm sure it will still be lovely though.
Janty
Buffy's eggs are sort of torpedo shaped after she has been broody. We call them cut and shunts as they always look like two that have been cut and pasted together. They always have a ridge in the middle and they are always double yolkers. ..lay a little egg for me
Yes, one of ours lays torpedoes, another lays very small eggs. This results in the eggs having to be helped down the egg skelter as they insist on turning sideways...
