I LOVE Rule Brittania, when I was senior NCO in the band I always called this as the " last song" as we were finishing a carnival, exiting an arena etc. It was my song.

I'm sad not to have been able to get to any of the Proms this year. Listening or watching them is just not the same, but this evening has been good - starting with Sue Perkins in Hyde Park!

It's funny seeing the Royal Albert Hall on my television tonight knowing I will be there tomorrow (taking members of our choir to record 2 Songs of Praise programmes)

I played saxophone, in the Romford Drum & Trumpet corps for 13 years from when I was about 11 or 12 onwards. I'm still slightly involved as I do their website now.

My DD played trumpet for Margate Silver Band. I miss hearing her play but DGS [aged 3!] has been ?practiising? ?playing? on her original instrument. You never know....he might make the Proms yet

I watched the second part on BBC1........and just felt that it was somewhat lacking this year....can't explain why though

I loved it and toggled it on sky to watch glasgow and the red hot chilli pipers playing highland cathedral was the climax for me as it gives me goosebumps to hear it - my daughter went down the isle to Highland cathedral accompanied by her brass band mates who played in the church for them both - they were both band members and she played the flugal horn/trumpet and still does.

I watched the Proms on tv but my Mum and one of her buddies went to Hyde Park. Today she's off to the Royal Albert Hall for the Songs of Praise recording. All this gadding about she'll be grouchy all week.

I've just got back from the Songs of Praise recording. It was absolutely brilliant! We've had such a good day.
