Ain't Nobody Here
Our friends found out from the pathologist what caused their lovely daughter's death. I was told this second hand by a close friend of theirs so don't know all the details but she apparently had a heart attack brought on by septecaemia. I understand this can be brought on by something as simple as a trip to the dentist, which she had had the week before. Not being medically trained, I don't really understand how this can happen to a healthy young girl. It obviously doesn't lessen the pain for them as it won't bring her back but I hope that in time, it will help them to know the reason, however unfair. Next Friday is the school ball for the 5th years. She was so excited about it and had bought a dress for it the week she died.
jackiepoppies
How very difficult for the family and friends of this young girl to make sense and come to terms with her death. My thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this terrible tragedy. Jackiex
Seagazer
That is so sad Vikki but I have heard of two people that have died very quickly from septacemia (sp?). The first was my osteopath. I hadn't seen her for a while but went whilst I was pregnant with my YS. I had to see someone else there and they told me that she had become very unwell suddenly and died within a couple of days. I was so shocked as she was younger than me. A lovely person through and through. The other one was a friend of my SIL, she died a couple of years ago and again very suddenly. I think it just completely takes over your body. It is so horrible for the poor parents of the young girl. I know its especially hard at this time of the year. I bumped into my friend, who lost her son in September, and she said its horrible because everyone else is feeling so happy and she just can't feel that way at all. Cinnamon
A girl in my daughters school took her own life 2 weeks ago,& although they didn't know her very well, they were deeply shocked & upset by the news. She was just 14. Tragically she had been sent home from school for fighting on the day she took her life. It was the funeral yesterday - teachers were crying,as were pupils. I think that when a tragedy like this happens within your own age/peer group it brings home how very fragile life is.
Ain't Nobody Here
How sad, Sarah . It's so hard to imagine what could drive a 14 year old to do that (I have a boy that age). Her poor family.
Cinnamon
I know. She was right between my girls in age. According to the local rag she had a troubled life - care homes & so forth, & was experiencing bullying at school, something I had always thought they were very hot on dealing with A tragic end to a short, difficult life. alih
That is appalling but those poor teachers will forever have to live with it too. My eldest is 14 and I cannot imagine the grief of knowing she had been in such pain she would prefer to leave us all. Absolutely tragic. Makes me count my blessings even more than usual, especially at this time of year when loss is so much more acute.

KAZAROO
I am in two minds whether to post about this as it is such a tragedy, but I'm so upset by it and can't get it out of my mind. I know you will offer sympathy and support. A girl in my ES's class at school has died in her sleep, aged 16. She went through primary school with him and her younger brother is in my YS's class. We both know her parents, not well, but they are two of the nicest people I've ever met. She was such a lovely girl, really bright and sporty and with a great future ahead of her. It's so sad and I can't stop thinking about what her parents are going through. This happened to a university friend of my sisters; she was a truly lovely girl- Its beyond reason- Thinking of the family
chickenanne
It's times like this that I would love to know the "right words" to provide some comfort. But I don't. So sorry to hear about it, it really is a tragedy when anyone goes before their time.
