Duckmomma
My Silkie eggs have started to hatch, We have one lovely little chick so far (one down five to go) It's making the sweetest little sounds, it's strong and healthy looking already and it's hatch was one of the easiest I've seen(and Iv'e seen hundreds) I think this batch of eggs may come from pretty good stock (in spite of coming off ebay) If anyone was consider buying silkie eggs from ebay I would reccomend this seller. We are going to call the chick Delboy in honour of a lovely dear friend of mine (Delboy is his nickname, he is a massive only fools fan ), he's 60yrs old and is doing a 100ft zipwire drop from the top of basingstoke hospital tomorrow lunchtime to raise funds for the charity PARITY FOR DISABILITY. If any one is around that area at lunchtime, Please cheer him on for me cos I can't be there
BeckyBoo
Way to go with your friend, he must be mad! Hope he raises loads of money. And how exciting about the chicks, it's SOOOOOO hard not to keep peeking, are they under a hen or in an incy? Hope you get a good hatch, we had 4 out of 7 on Monday which wasn't brilliant but (touch wood) they're all fit and healthy so far. Obviously we will need pictures! Duckmomma
Hi Mrs Bertie Yes I read your post about your chicks, it's always so exciting. I've done quite a few hatchings (in the incy) Chickens, ducks, Geese, quail and pheasants, mostly for other people and even a farm. But I'm surprised at excted I get when they hatch. I notice you want to do some Polands, go for it , I have three they are adorable. Mine are chamoise polands, a beautifull creamy colour with a sprinkling of darker feathers, one is frizzled, she looks like she exploded Yes my friend is a true nutter hes walked across hot coals and broken glass to raise funds, and works tirelessly for the handicapped. He is a rough diamond (like me he was raised in old Battersea) you won't find him minding his p's and q's (I imagine the air will be blue as he swings down that zip wire ) But he is one of the nicest kindest people I know
