Yorkshire Pudding
I've had a look through the older threads but can't find an anwer to this particular query, so here goes... My two bokashi bins both get very smelly. The food I put in is not already mouldy and I add plenty of bokashi bran between layers, before leaving them for a fortnight... but even before they are anywhere near full they reek. If I had to compare the smell to anything familiar I would have to say they smell of vomit. Not nice in the kitchen. I drain them regularly, press the food down well to exclude air and follow all the instructions; after their fortnight's 'sit' the food is 'preserved' looking and the top is covered in white mould. They just stink. Does anyone know where I'm going wrong? OH would be happy to ditch the whole shebang now but I want to persevere if possible. Ain't Nobody Here
Oh, I can sympathise . I bought 2 bokashi bins last year and had great success with the first two. They were just like they should be, pickly and not stinky at all. Then my next 2 went just like you describe . TBH, I've not had the heart to try again . Maybe I will give it another go now (but the thought of it going wrong again almost makes me think it's not worth it.)
