4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

UPDATE - I have discovered a flower pot coloured 'malteser' in the run today, aw bless - so that's obviously Margot my speckled lady's first so the paler one (below) is cassie's , so now both girlies have started to lay - this week.

 

An egg! I just went to let out the girls and lo and behold an egg in the newbies run! A whole 43g of loveliness and it hasn't been eaten ( reference to my naughty older girlies there!)

 

 

Who would lay this colour tho? Any ideas? I thought speckledy's would be more terracotta and I thought Light Sussex's would be white

 

 

Excuse the HUGE pic the egg looks pale beige in 'real life'.

 

I was convinced that Cassie was going to be first, crouching, generally getting more vocal etc.

Hi - our light sussex lays v.pale eggs, so I think it's prob not her.

It must be speckledy then because the brown girlies were in their own run (they live alongside in eglu pairs)

 

It's so exciting, and I'm so surprised she has beaten cassie to it

My DS has speckledy's and his lay that shade of brown eggs

My speckledy's eggs are a very dark brown, and a bit speckled on the bottom.

Am I right in thinking that cassie light sussex will lay white eggs?? If so then it must be margot the speckledy and maybe the eggs will 'darken up' in time.

My light sussex hybrid (Fenning Sussex) lays light brown eggs. They're sort of 'white person's flesh' colour. Sort of pale, pinky, tanny, but not what I'd call cream or white.

sorry if ive got a bit confused but if you have a goldline that could have laid (i think thats what i see in the pic!) my goldlines first egg looked exactly like that - speckles n all!

At last! After 12 weeks living the life of riley, my lovely young ladies have started to earn their keep yay!

Only jusy seen this.

 

My Speckledy's first egg was a cream colour - the next 5 were one by one a shade darker than the day before until I finally got a dark shelled egg.

Oh wow! I was expecting a white one from my sussex so was baffled, until today when it became obvious- oh yeah, and we got two eggs in the same run before they al lfree ranged , !
