pasq
My 2 chooks have been off lay for past month or so now -well i only get few eggs a week now at best.... Poo seems a bit runny at times. Apart from that health wise they're fine. Thinking of worming them (as they've never been done). What worming stuff have you used? Do you advise worming Thanks, pasq
Snowy
Reduced egg supply may just be due to the time of year, but if they haven't been wormed, then it would be a good time to do it anyway. I use Flubenvet. If you google it you should get some on line suppliers, it's about £15 for a tub that should last you ages!

Sandychick
Mine layed less and less eggs until they eventually stopped altogether. By day 3 of Flubenvet, the eggs returned They all lay an egg a day now. They did look healthy to me before I wormed them, but after they had noticeably redder combs and just seemed a lot healthier. I would deffinatly recommend giving Flubenvet a try.
The Dogmother
I always worm them in the winter as the eggs start to tail off naturally, that way i don't have to worry about egg withdrawal. There is a thread somewheer int he FAQ section with all sorts of useful info in it.

Egluntyne
I'd give them Flubenvet too.
The good lifers
We just wormed our 2-with Verm X, you have to do this every month for 3 days, the stuff you add to water maybe better than the pellets, although she did eat the dose out of my hand, but you may not want to do that- in which case the instructions say to add it to food. after this, she immediately started laying. If you look in the poo , you can see worms, which is a bit yuck, but gives a definate answer. Also you can carry on eating the eggs during treatment, but you may want to wash the dirt off the outside of the egg and cook well.Hope this helps!!
