ubereglu
Hi, I need some ideas-in order to cut down costs for Christmas presents and make people something unique I need ideas of what to make people as presents. I can stitch, sew, glue, draw, paint and have access to lots of materials that I could use. I really want to make things from recycled items too, any ideas? Lesley
The carrier bags made from newspapers? I know someone posted about how to make them a while ago........you could use those to hold the other items you might make?
frenchtoast
I got "Sew Pretty Homestyle" book for my birthday with a few little projects..Have a look at it on amazon as you can the pages. I like the small "hearts for shoes" lavender bags which have french style embroidery on them and they are kept in pairs by 20" cord. Also the cafetiere cover looks quite easy and pretty. I also got a patchwork book out of the library and wondered about doing some small things but can't think what- maybe little cushions for bedrooms or hanging decorations like hearts with buttons and twine sort of things. Perhaps finishing sewn items with personalised hand embroidery eg initials, names, Noel, or similar is quite a nice thing to give?
craftyhunnypie
Hows about knitted slipper socks or ipod / phone socks. Plus phone charms, bag charms - beaded memory wire bangles, calendars of your chickens. Emma.x
