sambee
My partner and I recently got two chicks. I believe them to be a Silver Duckwing Welsummer, though this probably needs confirming, and also a Campine. I was wondering if anybody about there would be able to give their opinions on the sex of them from these photos. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=55901&l=11f41&id=502066122 I'm concerned Peggy Meggy our Welsummer (the brown one) may be a cockeral from the way he struts about like he rules the roost. Any opinion would be appreciated. Thank you
Plum
Sorry I'm a complete beginner. However, googled them and it says the welsummer female has a salmon breast while the male has a black breast. So reckon she must be a she. All I could find about campines is that the male has female plumage . She looks female though. Fingers crossed for you. I voted both hens. Egluntyne
I'm guessing both hens. THeir combs are tiny, as my girls were at a few weeks. Have a good look at the hackle feathers. If they are pointy they are likely to be male and rounded, they are likely to be female. Fingers crossed.
sambee
Oh I'm liking these responses, sounding very hopeful. This is the positive encouragement the girlies needed. They will be beautiful girls when they grow up. They're somewhere between a month now, i thought i should add.
xChicken04x
Welsummer definitely a girlie. Campine- don't have much experience with this breed, but looks like a female also. xx
craftyhunnypie
I would say both female! Good luck Emma.x
