Both my boys had 'faints' starting at about 12/13 years old. They have both been diagnosed with vascular migraine. The eldest started on regular medication and resolved within 12 months. Unfortunately Rob my youngest is more severe and the original medication didn't help - he is now on anti epileptic meds (he's not an epileptic) and it seems to be working. It's all to do with seretonin levels and the chemicals in the brain keeping up with the big growth spurt at adolescence. I have migraine and although it was only diagnosed a couple of years ago it seems as a child I had exactly the same problems!!!!!!!!!!!

Speak with the GP and if it doesn't resolve ask for a referral to a neurologist.

have finally been to the doctors about my fainting spells - and i have to go back, because my heart was making a 'wooshy sound'!

It might be because she did a blood pressure test and i panicked and i nearly fainted again!

good times!

I fainted in the changing rooms of a clothes shop when I was in my early 20s. My fault, I went shopping during my lunch hour and was dashing around with no food inside me. No food+hot changing room+rushing around=spark out on changing room floor!

At the time it worried me stupid but with hindsight, it was obvious why it happened.

Were you doing anything to bring on a faint? If not and you're worried, speak to your GP but my guess is you were working too hard with too little food inside you, let that be a lesson to you! ;)

Stay calm Megan, it could be heaps of things :)

Fainting is really common in teen girls - I did it lots of times, as have my 2 daughters.

Its a horrible experience, but ,as my Doctor said to me when I took my girl in after she fainted at the top of the stairs & fell all the way down, it happens to everyone at least once in their life
