David&Sue
Just 3 weeks into our hen keeping and all is going very well. We have 6 Blackrocks and they are producing 3 eggs a day. Yes, I have a spreadsheet! This morning I found an 'egg without a shell'. Is this a problem or something that happens occassionally? We did have a storm here two days ago which might have upset the usual routine. Any advice welcome. David
chichi
i find the odd 'rubber' egg too. dont worry, it happens now and then with young birds. you sometimes get eggs with very thin shell too. although if you're getting them often obviously there could be a feeding problem, but dont worry about one or 2. Christian
Hello David and Sue and welcome to the forum. Have moved this to the egg section for you As Chichi says, I wouldn't worry about the odd softie. Just a blimp in the egg laying cycle, could have been caused by the storm. As long as they are eating and drinking ok, generally active, I'm sure she will be fine.
