EileenH
Beauty has been behaving really strangely today. She came out of the eglu as normal this morning but went back about an hour later. I thought she was going to lay early so I thought nothing of it. However, she`s been in there for hours and hasn`t laid at all. I`ve turfed her out a few of times and she`s gone about the garden eating and drinking, even leaping on to the eglu top and marching about. But she`s gone back to sitting on the nest after about ten minutes each time. I don`t think she`s broody because she isn`t tetchy and pecky like she was last time and she doesn`t seem poorly or miserable. What do you think? hennymom
we had this problem 2 weeks ago, our henrietta was egg bound, we ran her a warm bath and sat her in it for about 40 minutes kept it warm and gave her some olive oil in her food, she sat in the lounge with us to dry off and then promptly laid an egg at half nine at night...she's been fine since, although she did not look unwell, she did the same as yours going and just sitting on the nest box all day.... hope you get her sorted soon....good luck ps she loved a nice bath!! EileenH
As you were! She IS broody again! It`s a real bore as she`s only been laying again from the last `broody` for about three weeks! Is this how she`s going to be? Do some chickens `brood` more than others? Flippin` `eck!
