MitchB
Hi everybody Finally Day is on the horizon it is due tomorrow . Rang Omlet spoke to Hayley definitely be here tomorrow. So excited we went and looked at the chickens over at the Breeder this afternoon to prepare ourselves. OH disappointed they don't have any Speckledy hens left and neither do the next nearest breeder to us, he made me ring and check, apparently there is a shortage!? So as soon as the is up and ready we will be over to fetch our girls. OH still undecided what to have as his first choice unavailable . So he is keeping his options open ie changing his mind every 10 mins. for sunshine and clear skies for duration of the construction at least!! Bye for now from one very excited chicken to be family. Patricia7455
Have you tried Thorne's in Letchworth for the speckledies? Or is this too far away. When I have been to look at chickens there they have always had some.

I haven't had any hens from them, but people on this forum are very positive, and the hens always look very well kept. I will get mine from them when I get them. MitchB
Still not here. Although OH and daughter have gone on mad dash to Thornes (rang them this morning they do have the OH first choice of Speckledy's) as suggested by Patricia7455, from us 80+ miles each way!!! Told you it was Mad. Whilst I maintain the wait. Son cannot stand suspense (or my pacing etc) and has disappeared to meet his mates in town. Been up since 7am reading the books again etc... doing washing/tidying and making cups of tea waiting for the knock on door to herald arrival of . Did say to OH what if it doesn't arrive or is faulty??? What then poor Speckledy can't stay in rabbit hutch for too long! Face that scenario when we come to it he says as he bundles box, daughter and sat nav into MY CAR and sets off just over an hour ago. Anyway off to find camera and make another cup of tea! MitchB
It has arrived!!!!! Well 5 boxes hopefully containing , one box with run in quite damaged/open hopefully nothing missing, surly delivery guy reckons bits in the small oblong chest looking box so should be alright. Have texted OH to let him know and took photo of boxes having arrived so far, then moved them all round back of house ready for the have we got all the bits.
