TAJ
So I have a moulting/stopped laying hybrid and a pure breed a month older that is still laying daily and not moulted - they obviously haven't read the books. Tracy

helenmb
I have a 23 week old Silver Sussex who I wasn't expecting to lay for weeks or even the spring and lo and behold we had our first egg last Friday. This has made her calm down so much too as she wouldn't let me near her before and now she is a changed girl .
cordelia
oh well done with the pure breed....(hopefully your hybrid will re-start again soon still waiting for mine... (Agatha has a redder face than her sisters...so I live in hope..) No crouching yet though...and I've read that I'll know what crouching is when I see it...so I hope that will be soon too .... My two Rhodies are 24 weeks this week, and the Cream Legbar 23 weeks..
helenmb
No crouching yet though...and I've read that I'll know what crouching is when I see it...so I hope that will be soon too .... Only 2 of my 3 girls crouches - the Silver Sussex doesn't plus her comb and wattles are much smaller and pinker than the others which was why I was suprised she first layed last Friday. I think growing feathers takes quite a bit of energy which is why they lay less (or none in your case) hopefully she'll read up soon about what is supposed to happen with her and her henfriend. TAJ
My laying in the winter light sussex was born Sept 2007 and as yet has never moulted - but she has also never crouched despite laying since Feb 2008. Tracy
