gracefruit
Yesterday we picked up two lovely new hens -- a Mendlesham Blue and a Mendlesham Amber. Both are settling in nicely and we've had very little flack from our original two divas. I just hope I can stop with four, otherwise, I'm going to need a cube! Mrs Frugal
They are gorgeous, Elizabeth. Congratulations. Stopping at 2 is a real problem, isn't it . We're still looking for a couple of additions but my list of wanted breeds just gets bigger .

gracefruit
Thanks so much, everyone. You know you are all enablers! ANH - I believe my two new girls came from the same breeder as yours -- the nice gentleman in Longniddry. It's time to pull out my piggy bank and start saving for another eglu, I think! Scottie
Elizabeth Good to hear you got your new hens - they are lovely! We're now up to 9 as we unexpectedly took in 3 of a friend's this week because of a stoat problem, so we have another cuckoo marans, a light Sussex and a buff Sussex bantam. We also, due to the stoat emergency, had to just bung them all in together, but so far so good! Sheila PS I've finished the tablet, will need to order more! It was gorgeous. MedusA
Your new girls are beautiful! I know how hard it is to resist once you start. My two are now seven!
gracefruit
Hi Sheila, Chickens are so addictive! I thought two would be plenty, but no. We just weren't getting enough eggs. I'll tell my lovely husband (who makes the tablet). He loves good feedback! Med, I am going to need a bigger garden, I think!
Ain't Nobody Here
ANH - I believe my two new girls came from the same breeder as yours -- the nice gentleman in Longniddry. A lady who lives up the road from me got her new girls two weeks ago from that guy too! I think she has a Mendlesham Blue as well .
gracefruit
He's a really nice man, and the set up he has for his chickens makes me jealous! When he was showing us the different choices, he was absent-mindedly stroking the birds. That gives me a lot of confidence in the breeder. Redwing
Another addict They are lovely, congratulations
mostin
They are both beautiful. If your amber has the same sort of feathers as mine she will manage to stay miraculously clean. The blue though is really different, well done .
