PurpleTree
I gave my girls a dust bath in their run the other week. Got a large washing up bowl and put some play sand in it, which they then added lots of wood bark to. All I saw them do was eat it. I've taken it out again now, I don't if it was really big enough, I'm on the look out for another suitable container. I haven't seen them bathing anywhere in the garden either. Chook n Boo Mum
Mine have a lovely red cat litter tray, filled with garden soil - must get some play sand though to break it up a bit as it now freezes into a solid lump! - well it's filled until the little mites jump in & fling the contents to the four winds! Maybe I should ask the neighbours for their ash too (we have a gas stove ) I have seen all three of them in there at one time, although poor little Buttercup shot out at a rate of knots when the other 2 fluffed up too much & popped her out!! Ardene5
Hi Everyone Our hens have a large under bed plastic unit. It was filled with sand but it would not dry out so have emptied it out and replaces with Aurbio horse bedding and garden peat. It works a treat. Hope this helps.
