I need your help

Recommended Posts

As you know we lost our darling Poppy after 14 years (almost) with us in August and although we have a new pup and our Cocker in the house there are still times where we struggle...yesterday was one of them. :( Remembrance day with all the poppies was very hard for all of us but especially my youngest son, so much so he burst into tears this morning (not normally him at 11), he said he knew we had to remember people yesterday and what they sacrificed for us but he had found it so so hard :(

We decided that as he was still missing Poppy so very badly that we would buy him a small cuddly yorkie to lay on his bed as Poppy did sometimes.

This is where I need your help, I have searched and found some yorkies, but really I wouldn't have ever recognised them as yorkies if they hadn't stated they were. Does anyone have any idea where else I can try that might have more realistic looking ones?

I had a hard day as I had collected Poppy on Remembrance day all those years ago, so I was a little choked yesterday myself, but it breaks my heart to see my YS like this.

Oh I'm so sorry to read that, poor your and poor son

I'm sorry I can't help you with Yorkies but I did just want to say that I really feel for you both. It was three years since I lost my best boy ever and I burst into tears at a country show in the summer when something reminded me of him.

I am so sorry. :(

I totally understand what you are going through. We lost our dalmatian about 5 years ago when my daughter was about 6 (at Christmas of all times). We found it so traumatic I vowed we would never have another dog. But my little girl had such a hard time with dealing with the loss (she cried at school regularly and talked about Marcus all the time) that I eventually agreed we would get another dog. We got Woody, a blue roan cocker spaniel, from the NCDL about 18 months later. He has helped so much and although she still talks about Marcus nearly 6 years later she loves Woody as much and he seems to have helped her a huge amount and she loves him for himself not as a 'replacement'.

I don't know much about Yorkies (although they are very cute) so can't help you with that although I would recommend getting a rescue dog and you may even find a Yorkie there.

Whatever you decide I wish you lots of luck and lots of love and a big hug for your son (although he'll probably run a mile  ).

Take care.

Love

thanks Baby Bears Mum, our new pup is a yorkie, :D she's called Suzi, we got her very quickly after losing Poppy, not to replace as Poppy could never be replaced, but she is loved in her own right, feisty little madam that she is.

I have been searching but not come up with a yorkie cuddly toy, but I will keep hunting.
